The NSW Government has released a draft plan for a Sydney Marine Park to protect our ocean treasures and secure sanctuaries for us to play in, for our kids to learn in and for our fish to thrive in. But the plans don't provide the protection our marine life needs. Under their proposal only 2.4% of Sydney's coastal waters would be fully protected sanctuaries, but even this small progress is by no means secured, so we need to speak up. We have just 6 weeks to have our say.

Call the Premier!

The NSW Government announced a backflip on proposed new sanctuaries that would protect Sydney’s incredible marine life! This comes weeks before the community consultation is due to finish, and ignores the science that says our marine life needs sanctuaries. 

Call the NSW Premier and tell her that Sydney's blue backyard needs sanctuaries now.

  • I am deeply disappointed your government has backflipped on proposed new sanctuary zones for the Sydney Marine Park. 
  • Only 2.4% of the proposed park would be fully protected sanctuary zones. Sanctuaries are scientifically proven to increase the diversity and abundance of marine life. I strongly urge you to increase the level of protection in the final plan.
